Now hiring: minpaku on-call responder in Higashiyama, Kyoto
Ben Stay, the company that runs kakenavi, is looking for someone to be the on-call responder for a minpaku in Higashiyama, Kyoto (Gion-Shijo to Kiyomizu-Gojo, east of the Kamo River). People living nearby and minpaku agencies already working in the area are both welcome.

What the role involves
Under Kyoto City's rules, an owner-absent minpaku needs a "現地対応管理者" (on-site response manager) within a 10-minute walk (about 800 m by road) whenever guests are staying. That is the role.
- ✓Respond to guests and neighbours (noise, rubbish, faults), day or night
- ✓First response in emergencies such as fire (calling services, helping guests out)
- ✓Quick fixes for leaks, blockages and similar faults
- ✓Report back to our staff, who handle guest messaging in Japanese and English
Who we're looking for
- ✓You live between Gion-Shijo and Kiyomizu-Gojo stations, east of the Kamo River. The closer the better.
- ✓You can communicate in Japanese (English is a plus)
- ✓You can be reached quickly by mobile phone
- ✓Or you're a minpaku agency already operating in this area

Kyoto City is considering tighter minpaku and 簡易宿所 rules (a draft of 31 August 2026 includes staff stationed in the property or an adjacent building; a bill is planned for the February 2027 council and nothing is final). If the rules change, we'll discuss the role and terms with you.
